Logging, Sawmill and Wood Processing Opportunity
Welcome to Nyan-Nyan Enterprise Inc., Liberia’s emerging leader in sustainable and value-added timber processing. With forest access contracts already secured and operations firmly established, we stand ready to deliver premium timber and wood-products for both domestic and export markets. Liberia has the remaining Upper Guinea Moist Forest in West Africa, accounting for over 40% of the country’s land, or over 4.0 million hectares, with over 200 timber species suitable for a variety of wood-based products, yet it imports a large amount of processed wood or relies on sub-standard and inferior processing “woodshops” for construction and other needs. After the lifting of five years of UN sanctions on timber in 2007, Liberia has implemented reforms in the sector.
As Forest Management Contract (FMC), Timber Sales Contracts (TSC) and Community Forest Management Agreement (CFMA) have been awarded and others are in consideration, there is an opportunity for a sawmill that processes extracted logs into sawn timber and usable finished products for the growing postwar construction industry of Liberia. The Government has made “value added” processing a requirement of forest concessionaries. As such there is clear opportunity for the Sawmill Company.

Establish a modern integrated processing facility in Buchanan with an initial monthly capacity of approx. 750 cubic metres of sawn timber. Build local capability: Create over 200 jobs in the region where we operate, raise standards of living, and invest in the community. Supply the growing Liberian construction, furniture and wood-products industries with processed timber—reducing reliance on imports and boosting local value-chains. Expand into export-ready wood-products that meet international quality standards and capture new markets for Liberia.
